The Jamaica Society Leeds has received a grant from the Windrush Day Grant Scheme 2024 from the Department For Levelling Up, Housing and Communities to deliver the project, “The Legacies of the Leeds Windrush Generation”. Jamaica Society Leeds will work in collaboration with the St Kitts & Nevis Association Leeds. We will focus on commemoration and educating the public on some of the forgotten achievements of the Leeds Windrush generation nurses and celebrate our surviving Windrush passenger, Alford Gardener.
