We’re recruiting! Work with our Care Group

The coronavirus pandemic has made the work of the Jamaica Society Leeds Care Group supporting the most vulnerable members of our community more urgent than ever. We are looking for a committed and attentive Volunteer and Events Coordinator to lead on recruiting volunteers and delivering social and cultural activities for older people and ways of engaging and supporting them throughout the pandemic.
Through a programme of culturally appropriate support for the most vulnerable within the African Caribbean community, our Care Group
- Supports the elderly, sick, isolated and housebound as well as carers, hospital in-patients and people with disabilities.
- Supports those who have been recently bereaved.
- Delivers cultural, heritage and social activities for older people in our community.
We need the right person in this role to ensure that we can continue this support during the covid-19 crisis.
We are looking for someone who is caring, patient, creative with strong interpersonal skills, to work with a diverse range of people. They should have excellent communication skills and the ability to motivate others; experience of working with older people and understanding their safeguarding needs. They should have experience working with volunteers and coordinating community projects.
