The Out of Many Festival and Peepal Tree Press are delighted to partner together on an online book club for those who love Jamaican and West Indian literature. 

Friday, 18th November:

 Join acclaimed poet Tanya Shirley, The Merchant of Feathers, and listen to her carefully crafted work and the way she draws the reader in through her words. 

Tanya was recently a guest at the Festival’s Out of Many Lit in Leeds as part of an event called Calabash Presents, curated by the acclaimed Calabash International Literary Festival. 

The online book club takes place from 3-4.30pm. 

Tanya was born and lives in Jamaica and is also a lecturer at the University of the West Indies.

 Friday, 2nd December:

Kwame Dawes, 3-4.30pm. 

Kwame, who is a co-founder of the Calabash International Literary Festival, was also recently in Leeds when he brought Calabash Presents to Leeds as part of the Jamaica Society Leeds’ Out of Many Lit event. 

The book club will see literature lovers able to engage with the Emmy- award-winner and Prophets-writer; Kwame has written 22 books of poetry in addition to other respected works.
