Vanley Burke – the iconic ‘Godfather of Black British Photography’ – on the importance of Black communities telling their own stories. In conversation with Dawn Cameron and with contributions from Rebellion to Romance Exhibition curator Susan Pitter, the globally acclaimed chronicler of Black narratives will also share his approach to capturing portraits of second-generation West Indians of Leeds for the exhibition.
A part of the Out of Many Festival made possible thanks to National Lottery players by the National Lottery Heritage Fund and Arts Council England and staged in partnership with Leeds Libraries.
