JAMES ‘JIM’ ROBERT WHITE (1915 – 2009)

Hailing from Christiana, Jamaica, Jim made the journey to England in 1958. He found employment in engineering at West Yorkshire Foundry in Leeds. Working grueling shifts in hot, grimy conditions alongside many newly arrived fellow Jamaicans and other West Indians, Jim helped to rebuild the city’s post-war engineering industry.
